U-Factor
The U-Factor, or U-Value, is a measure of the rate of heat transfer through a material, such as a window. The lower the U-Factor, the better the window is at insulating against heat loss. U-Factor is measured on a scale from 0.20 to 1.20, and Ameritech Windows provides windows with U-Factors as low as 0.18 to help you maximize your energy savings.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC)
The Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) measures the amount of solar radiation that is allowed to pass through a window. Visible Light Transmittance (VLT)
